Century is a fragrant hop. It was cultivated in 1974 and put on the market in 1990, just in time for the centennial celebration of Washington state joining the Union. The century lineage is very complex, comprising 3/4 of Brewer's Go1d,3/32 of Fags, 1/16 of Donkens, 1/32 of Bavaria and 1/16 of unknown varieties.
Century has a very rich floral and citrus fragrance, with some citric acid flavor, can be used as a bitter flower, with strong aroma won the title of Super Cathcart, and always occupy the top ten list of American craft brewer.
Century bitter aroma balance is very good, belongs to the universal hop, is widely used in the brewing of American Al, American wheat and PA, as a single hop, with other hops, have very good performance.
Century is also a hop dependent on cold chain transport, normal temperature transport will lead to irreversible damage to the aroma.
