Comet was created in Oregon in 1961 and put on the market in 1974. This is a medium bitter hop considered to have "wild American aroma". At one point in 1980, it accounted for 1% of America's hop acreage
When it hit the market, the iconic American hop, citrus-scented Cathcot had just been introduced, and the grapefruit - flavored Comet's aroma had received little attention.
It has strong grapefruit, citrus and pine notes, with subtle notes of wild fruit and elderberry. When added at the end of the boil, the aroma can be released perfectly and the comet instead of the West chu provides the grapefruit flavor, which we have achieved great success in China.
Comet is a perfect complement to the soft, delicate and passionless hedra. The bitter orange flavor of the comet is a perfect complement to the sweet fruit flavors of the other hops. Comet with Idaho Seven is a classic hop raga craft.
In recent years, comets have found new life in PA, Wild Ales, Farmhouse Beer and various new types of Beer, as brewers have explored their aromas.
Applicable beer: Lager, American Ale, IPA, in the brewing of wheat beer, the performance is also amazing.
